Despite being pregnant, Jessica refuses to embrace the excitement around the arrival of her second child. Instead she makes it her mission to ensure no-one forgets her first child, Jordan, who died shortly after birth. Say my Baby’s Name was commissioned by the still birth charity Abigail’s Footsteps as a follow up to the hugely successful Deafening Silence, which told the story of a mother’s experience of still birth.
The film will principally be used to help midwives better understand the psychological complexities connected to pregnancy after loss. It will also be used to raise awareness of the issue.
The film was launched at the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week in October 2022, at a special screening at the Curzon, Soho. This received considerable publicity, with features on the local BBC and ITV news. In addition to this, it received coverage in various publications including the Independent. The film has been nominated for best charity film at the Brand Film awards 2023.
