Meaning is the second film in a series of films for the National Police Wellbeing Service aimed at challenging serving officers to reflect on their experiences and the importance of wellbeing. The first film – Purpose – tackled the issues faced by new recruits and this film looks at the experiences of officers in the mid term of their career. The film was launched by Chris Philp, the minister for Crime, Policing and Fire in June, 2023. It will now be used by forces across the UK and the College of Policing. The film won the GOLD in the Health and Wellbeing and Training film categories at the EVCOM Clarion Awards, 2024. It has been receiving very positive feedback from Forces nationally. Here are a few examples:
A few months ago I watched the film ‘Meaning’ during an input at work. The film has continued to replay in my head and helped me come to realise the need to ask for help. Today I took the first step thanks to you.
We are all feeling the stressed, overwhelmed and under appreciated in the policing world at the minute, me especially and believe the package may help my team navigate these tough times.
Very interested having just attended your session for the launch of “Meaning”, which I thought was incredible. My intention is to use it in training new sergeants and police staff line managers to raise awareness of the policing role and to reinforce the importance of wellbeing.
